Many golfers prefer to play as many different courses as possible during their Costa Rica golf vacation. Our Four Courses in seven days Central Valley & Pacific Beaches package offers the unique opportunity to play in two Central Valley courses and travel to the western beaches of Guanacaste to play on two more championship courses. Accommodations include four star hotels in both regions within driving distance of the country clubs and resorts and strategically located to maximize after-hours entertainment options. The package can be customized for groups or couples by changing hotels, room types, modes of transportation, and adding activities or spa treatments.

Day 1: Arrive at San Jose International Airport. Clear immigrations and then be met in the customs area by a representative, who will take you to meet your driver. Board the van for the short transfer to the car rental company. Receive a Suzuki Grand Vitara or similar mid-size SUV and start the 15-minute drive to San Jose. Check into a Junior Suite at Hotel Presidente or a standard room at the Melia Cariari. Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the city, consider one of the recommended restaurants for dinner in town and plan a night out in the city after hours.

Possible hotel upgrades to the Real Intercontinental or the Costa Rica Marriott available.

Day 2: Play on Costa Rica’s oldest golf course! 18 holes await you at the Fazio Cariari Club Golf Course. Take the rest of the day to explore the city (or if you prefer, schedule a re-play round). Visit the city’s top museums, attractions and landmarks, many within walking distance of your hotel. Visit San Jose’s Cathedral, the renowned National Theatre, the Plaza de la Cultura and the Gold Museum. Continue on to the National Museum where you can learn about Pre-Columbian Costa Rican cultures. Other sites in the neighborhood include the Costa Rican Congress, Democracy Square, the Jade and the Children’s museums. Overnight in a Junior Suite at the Hotel Presidente or a standard room at the Melia Cariari.

Day 3: Today, play an 18-hole round of golf at Valle del Sol Golf Course. This course is set in one of the city’s most exclusive residential neighborhoods. You will fall in love with the views as you enjoy the course. Upon completion of the round return to the hotel (feel welcome to play an afternoon round). Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the city. Overnight in a Junior Suite at the Hotel Presidente or a standard room at the Melia Cariari.

Day 4: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At your leisure, check out of the hotel and start the 4½ hour drive to the Guanacaste Pacific shore. This beautiful drive will take you west of the city traveling through the Central Valley, past the towns of Grecia, Naranjo, Palmares and San Ramon. You will start the drive down the mountains south towards the port of Puntarenas, and veer northwest up the Interamerican highway past the towns of Canas, Bagaces and Liberia. This drive takes you on the Guanacaste savannah, home to cattle ranches, tilapia farms, and agricultural farms. Once in Liberia, veer southwest past the International Airport, through the town of Filadelfia. In Belen, veer west towards the beaches. Arrive at the popular town of Tamarindo and check into a sunset ocean view room at Hotel Tamarindo Diria. Take the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the hotel and Tamarindo beach. For your night entertainment, a list of recommended restaurants will be provided.

Day 5: Start the 20 minute drive south to Hacienda Pinilla, future home of the JW Marriott Resort on Langosta Beach, and one of the most exclusive beachfront developments in the country. You will have reservations for an 18-hole round of golf at Mike Young’s Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course. Upon completion of the round, return to the hotel. Free time to enjoy the resort and the beach, and explore the Tamarindo Region. Suggested activities while in Tamarindo include (optional):

Visit the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, and some of the mud baths and hot springs in the region.

Explore the native mangroves in Tamarindo on a sea kayaking tour.

Embark on a sunset cruise off the shores of Tamarindo Beach. View spectacular sunsets on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast as you sail through Tamarindo Bay.

Sport fishing off Tamarindo Bay. Home to some of the world’s best sport fishing -- Boats with experienced crews and great service can be reserved on site.

Watch the giant leatherback turtles nesting during a special night tour only available from mid November to late February. This is a miracle of nature that can only be seen in select places around the globe, during a few months of the year.

Day 6: Drive north for 15 minutes to Costa Rica’s top all-inclusive resorts, where you will have reservations for an 18-hole round of golf at the renowned Robert Trent Jones II’s Golf Course in Reserva Conchal. Upon completion of the round, return to Tamarindo and take the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the resort, the beach or take a tour.

Day 7: free day to explore the region and enjoy the beaches. Overnight in a sunset room at Tamarindo Diria.

Day 8: After breakfast, at your leisure check out of the Tamarindo Diria Hotel and drive back to San Jose (or Liberia if your flight departs from this airport). Return the vehicle, the car rental staff will take you to the International Airport as a complimentary service.
